Souliya PHOUMIVONG is a young artist and art teacher at the National Institute of Fine Arts ( NIFA ) Vientiane , Laos . He has been invited under the “Invitation Programme for Creators,” administered by the Japan Foundation, as part of the “Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths: JENESYS Programme.” He has taken residency at Youkobo Art Space in Tokyo for approximately than 2 months to produce art works and carry out research.
During his residency, he has created a new body of work consisting of hotography and short film. He has also worked on his first clay animation work, which he will be premiered during the exhibition.
