Johanna Karlin

[Sweden]

Johanna Karlin has worked with exhibitions, public commissions, cooperative activities, research and consultancies and she has also lectured and run workshops at art academies and the University. Today she lives for part of the year on Öland, where she works part-time as course superintendent at the Öland Art School. She also works as a project manager for art for Kalmar County Council. In recent years she has taken part in local and international conferences and established contacts and active collaboration with artists. Her artistic activities consist mainly of studies and work on various projects linked to architecture. These can involve concrete site specific architectonic installations to alterations in the scale of models. Johanna Karlin has been an active artist since she completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm in 1995. She lives and works in Berlin, Stockholm and on Öland.

She would like to develop different projects around temporality in architecture, both in private and public space. She will work with it in a kind of performative way by finding or making installations. The results could be manifested in different public interventions as well as in the form of documentation.
